This young woman is a dynamo and is setting the bar for others. Lynn is the mother of 5, yes 5, young children and has a very busy home life with long time boyfriend Jason Landon. The eldest of these, Eli, 12 and AJ,8, are involved with the Westfield Little League and Lynn serves as the secretary and player agent for this league. The Westfield Goldenhawks benefit from her work on their executive board, equipment manager and sportswear coordinator. Her other children Sophia, 4, Nora, 2, and her newest little Finn, born July 10, keep her busy as well.
Lynn is currently the Marketing Director at Cross Roads Farm and Craft Market where she is doing a wonderful job reviving this business that closed at the end of their season last year. The current property owner realized that Cross Roads was a tradition in our town and hired Lynn to keep it going. Lynn has worked hard finding vendors to set up shop and she has infused the complex with some new ideas. Her decision to bring in a little bit of Lily Dale in the form of mediums has been well received. The food at the Pit Stop is very good, the smell of the grill drawing people inside the spacious building, be sure to try the homemade chips!
The market is teeming with a variety of vendors, fudge, jams, pottery, wine, clothing, wood work, antiques and so much more. In addition to the market Lynn has arranged for live music and or a DJ in the pavilion, garage sales on the grounds, car shows, and the Grand Opening that included a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony that was attended by many, village, town and county dignitaries.
Lynn loves to spend time with her family, including her mother, Kiona, step father Kevin Callahan and her DJ father Kevin Kelley Sr. This large blended family is supportive of each other and make a great team, it is easy to see where Lynn got her entrepreneurial and civic spirit. In addition to her involvement with the recreation department, Lynn is a member of the Westfield Republican Committee. Cooking and entertaining are two of her favorite past times and a great way to spend time with her family
She says, Westfield has a lot of options for children with programs to keep them busy year round. We also have some great volunteers that run these programs, more are always needed. “I consider myself lucky to live in such a wonderful place.” I could not agree more, Lynn, I could not agree more!
When asked what she may change in Westfield Lynn could only say that she wished more people would get involved. “I would love to see more people my age get involved in the political aspects of our great community. We need some young, motivated people to step up to lead and make changes as they are need. This is a wonderful community that is run by great people, but we could do so much more if more people got involved.”
It is clear that Lynn and her family are assets to our village/town and that her children will learn from her.
Cross Roads is a member of Westfield/Barcelona Chamber of Commerce. The market is open 9 am—5 pm on Saturdays from May until December 23. Follow the market on Cross Roads Farm and Craft Market on facebook.
