Patterson Library presents The Armistice Project

The Patterson Library presents The Armistice Project with Kevin Dunne and friends, Charles Ferraro, Nathan Smith, archival William Sherman soldier portraits, and the Patterson Library’s WW1 posters in the Octagon Gallery November 16- December 7, 2018. The opening reception for the artists will be held Friday, November 16 from 7-9 pm.  This event is free and open to the public.

Kevin Dunne and friends and Charles Ferraro will be featuring 1/9 scale of busts dioramas depicting and recreating history to the viewing public.  Shadowbox art, dioramas, archive photos, letters from soldiers, and memorabilia will engage every reader who loves history.  This exhibit will bring into focus a period of our nation’s history for which a large majority of us have no experience.  The show will feature our WW1 poster collection, uniforms, ephemera, Westfield Republican clippings, letters from soldiers collectively with the miniature art of regional and international artists who will take you back to a time when the patriotism of a nation was never a question.

The Patterson Library will show four World War 1 films in the Octagon Gallery:  November 20 “Big Parade”, 29 “My Boy Jack”, Dec. 4 “All Quiet on the Western Front” and Dec. 7 “Joyeux Noel”.  All films starting at 6 pm are free and open to the public.

The Patterson Library will provide refreshments but feel free to bring an evening snack. For any questions please call Nancy Ensign at 326-2154 or email curator@pattersonlib.org
