The YWCA Westfield Announces Several Upcoming Events

The YWCA Westfield announces several upcoming events to be held in the next few months.

Join Jen Raines from The Studio at Panterra for a Yoga Class on Thursday, September 13th from 6:30pm until 7:45pm in the YWCA Westfield's assembly room. The cost is a $15 donation which will benefit the Board’s programming efforts for women in the community. Please pre-register by phone at 716-708- 2521 or by email at studiopanterra@mac.com. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat if you have one.

On Sunday, October 21st, between 2:00pm and 5:00pm, the YWCA will offer pumpkin carving for all ages, and the opportunity to meet new people and empower each other. Your first ticket is $10 and just $5 for additional family members. With each ticket you will receive one pumpkin, carving tools with a stencil of your choice or paint, and one battery-powered candle to light up your masterpiece. Space is limited, so we suggest RSVPing to the Facebook event with how many people are attending. The event is rain or shine.

We are pleased to once again offer the “Darkness to Light Stewards of Children Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training” on Saturday, November 3rd at 1pm completely free of charge. This valuable two-hour course is a prevention training program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Taken by parents, caregivers, and those who work with children at schools, daycares, faith centers, recreation departments, and other youth-serving organizations, it is the only nationally distributed, evidence-based program proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child protective behaviors. A small investment of two hours will forever change the way you care for children and make your community a safer place.

For more information on these events, please contact the YWCA at 716-326-2011 or afowler@ywcawestfield.org, or visit the YWCA Westfield on Facebook.
