WINTER STORM INFORMATION

With the upcoming winter storm, we wanted to send some related information.  If you lose power, the Village emergency number is 716-792-7919.  This number can be used for any other (water, sewer, street) problems as well.  Please keep in mind that in a situation like this, they can be overloaded with calls, so you may not get through on the first try.  Also, please make an effort not to call repeatedly once you have made contact, as that impedes their ability to take new calls.  If it is a true emergency, please call 911.  We will respond to outages as quickly as possible.  Our first priority is to make the scene safe for the public as well as our staff. We prioritize our response based on public safety, number of residents impacted, and providing power to critical facilities such as the Hospital.

We are taking every measure to be as prepared as possible for this storm.  Please be assured that DPW crews will be available and will respond to all issues.  The winds that are forecasted with this storm are extremely high, even for our area, so it is hard to predict the potential impact. The very cold temperatures and potential snow make that problem even worse.  Please make sure you are prepared for power outages.  If you have a generator, please use it safely to protect you and your family, as well as our line workers.  The following link has some useful tips on generator safety. https://www.generac.com/resources-and-tools/homeowner-resources/portable-generator-safety

Welcome to the Village of Westfield. Please take some time to go through our site to enhance your understanding of village government and the significant role it plays in our community. This site serves as yet another means of access to the information and public services we provide, as well as those offered by many of the other fine organizations in our County and State.

We urge all Westfield citizens and taxpayers to take a more active role in learning about their local government. Our board meetings are always open to the public and we look forward to your attendance, suggestions, ideas and constructive criticism. We have an excellent organization but nothing is perfect, so that's why we need each and every one of you to help us make it even better. We know that after you take the time to review this site, you'll be much better informed and perhaps even more interested in getting involved. If you have a question or a concern about the Village, please contact our offices at (716) 326-4961.
