We have the Dan Reed Memorial Pier in Barcelona, but WHO was Dan Reed?

…was a question asked by a faithful BeeLines reader some months ago.

“Oh, he was a congressman back when the pier was built,” replied your Westfield Historian, “or at least he had something to do with it being built. I will try to research that and get back to you.”

Unplugged in the Middle of the "Field"

Unplugged in the Middle of the "Field" is a variety show based in Westfield similar to Prarie Home Companion.  This version is hosted by Hans Mueller and Floyd Kowalski, featuring "The Lit Lady", The Unknown Comic, Petunia the lipsticked pig, Wait Wait Westfield, a craft or cooking demo, musical acts and an interview with a local celebrity, this months interview subject is artist Kathleen Gullo and she is very talented and interesting.  The show is $5 per person with concessions available.

FREE Movie night

Come out to Lake Shore Center for the Arts and watch classic movies on our big screen. This month's selection is His Gal Friday starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russel.  The movie was made in 1934, we will show cartoons, a news reel and music from that year with the movie.  The movie FREE and there are concessions available for purchase.  Come join the fun in our intimate theater.
